The LITC was assessed to a \u2018fully fitted\u2019 assessment system: \u2018BREEAM 2010 International: Bespoke (Fully Fitted)\u2019 drawn up by <a title=\"Technum\" href=\"http:\/\/www.technum.be\" target=\"_blank\">Technum<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"BREEAM\" href=\"http:\/\/www.breeam.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">BREEAM <\/a>is an assessment method designed to determine the sustainability performance of buildings. The method comprises different <a title=\"BREEAM schemes\" href=\"http:\/\/www.breeam.org\/podpage.jsp?id=54\" target=\"_blank\">schemes<\/a>. These schemes are usually country-specific, but sometimes also international, and are classified according to the type of building (swimming pools, schools, public buildings &#8230;). When a standard assessment scheme is not yet available for a particular type of building, a fitted procedure, which is called \u2018bespoke\u2019, is drawn up.<\/p>\n<p>BREEAM stands for Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method and was originally developed and introduced by the Building Research Establishment (BRE), an English research organisation, more or less comparable with the Belgian WTCB.<br \/>\nBREEAM draws up a standard for a sustainable building and subsequently determines the performance level of the examined building. The aim is to analyse and to improve buildings.
